The In's And Out's To Pro Wrestling's Injurys

I know wrestling is considered fake,but wrestling is very dangerous and sometimes the wrestlers do suffer from severe injuries. Sometimes they happen in a match and are reported accurately. Sometimes the wrestler enters a match knowing they will be taking some time off for an injury and the writers will come up with an angle where it appears that the wrestler suffered an injury at the hands of an opponent to create an angle for when the wrestler returns.

And other times, there is no real injury.Just a fake injury to develop a feud. This article will take a look at which wrestlers are currently sitting on the sidelines due to an injury and will reveal both the real reason and the storyline reason that the wrestler is not in the ring.

The RAW Wrestlers out on the D.L.
Triple H: During a tag team match at New Year’s Revolution, Triple H tore his quadriceps tendon from his patella.The injury occurred when he gave Randy Orton a spine buster. Triple H will return at SummerSlam.

Shawn Michaels: On TV, Shawn is suffering from post-concussion syndrome and might have to retire. In real-life, Shawn is suffering from a knee injury. There has been no mention yet of his return.

Bobby Lashley: Bobby has been suffering with an injury to his shoulder since the spring. He bit the bullet until the summer when Ken Kennedy "injured" him. He should return to the ring by the end of the year.

Jeff Hardy: There were conflicting reports as to whether the reason Jeff hasn't been on TV is because of injury or suspension. Jim Ross put that controversy to rest in his blog. He states that Jeff will be absent from the WWE for issues not related to an injury. He also goes on to say that "to err is human". It must be noted that Jeff has battled drug issues in the past that led to him being fired by the company.In other words he's probably getting high.

Santino Marella: Santino injured his shoulder during a July house show match against Umaga. He should return to the ring in the fall.

Dusty Rhodes & Sgt. Slaughter: Both of these legends have recently received concussions at the hands of Randy Orton. Both of these injuries are fake and are being used as part of the same storyline involving Randy handing out concussions. Since neither of these Hall of Famers are full-time wrestlers. Don't expect to see either man back in the ring for any time soon.

SmackDown Wrestlers on the mends
Edge: The World Heavyweight Champion was suffered a torn pectoral muscle on 7/13 at Night SmackDown when Kane attacked him during his Mardi Gras ceremony. Edge was forced to turn over the title. He is expected to miss four months of action.

Rey Mysterio: Last fall, Rey’s knee was injured by Chavo Guerrero when Chavo brutally attacked Rey’s knee with a chair during an “I Quit Match”. Rey was set to fix his knee and the match was used as the reason why he is out of action. Rey is scheduled to return to the ring at SummerSlam.

The Undertaker: In late April, he suffered a Very severe arm injury. After fighting Batista to a draw in a steel cage match on the 5/11/07 edition of SmackDown, Mark Henry came out and further injured the Undertaker. Edge then cashed in his Money in the Bank title shot and easily beat the Undertaker. The Undertaker is not expected to come back untill the winter.

M.V.P.: In August, Montel Vontavius Porter was diagnosed with Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome. He had a procedure done to fix this heart condition and should be back in the ring in September.

Gregory Helms: In May, Gregory Helms had surgery to repair a broken neck. He will be out of action for at least a year.

Bob Holly: On the 4/3 edition of ECW on Sci Fi, Snitsky smashed Holly’s arm with a chair while it was on the ring steps. That move “broke” Bob’s arm. the real reason he's out is, Holly needs surgery to remove a nerve entrapment in his elbow. He should return to the ring in September.

ECW Wrestlers out of action
Rob Van Dam: On TV, Rob is out indefinitely after suffering multiple concussions at the hands of Randy Orton. Rob is not injured. His WWE contract has expired and the injury was used as a way to write him off of TV.Too bad because his high flying is missed.

Marcus Cor Von: Marcus is taking some time off to deal with a death in his family. There is no timetable for his return.

TNA Wrestlers out on the D.L.
There are currently no wrestlers on the TNA roster that will be missing time due to either legitimate or fake injuries.

Other Notable Injuries
Matt Cappotelli: This former Tough Enough champion is currently battling brain cancer. In April 2007, he had brain surgery that doctors have called successful.

Roddy Piper: In November 2006, it was announced that Roddy was battling Hodgkin’s lymphoma. He claims to be doing much better and has looked good in recent televised appearances.

Sean O’Haire: In March, Sean got his ass kicked in a brawl outside a night club and suffered severe facial injuries. He suffered a fractured orbital lobe in three places and as well as other fractures to his face and skull. In addition, the vision in his left eye is impaired.

Konnan: In July, Konnan had a kidney transplant.
