Ten Wrestlers Suspended For Steroids

It was announced that ten wrestlers were suspended for Wellness Policy violations but no names were mentioned. After watching tonight's show and analyzing the five members of the SmackDown roster named in the reports, I think I have finally figured out who the ten suspended wrestlers are.

Edge & Gregory Helms
Both wrestlers are currently out of action due to legitimate injuries. Both wrestlers also were originally named in this scandal earlier this year and denied using the substances (Edge's plea, Helm's plea) in question after the Wellness Policy started in February 2006. Their cries of innocence are contradicted by the Sports Illustrated article that says that Edge got somatropin, genotropin, and stanozolol between September 2004 and February 2007 and Helms got testosterone, genotropin, and nandrolone between November 2003 and February 2007.
Opinion & Analysis: Because both men are already out of the ring due to injuries, it is very easy for the WWE to suspend them without pay. This way the WWE look like they are doing something about the problem while they save money by not paying wrestlers that are sitting out with injuries that they got while making money for the company.

Batista
Batista was linked to this by an ESPN article that does not contain the same level of detail that the SI article has. On tonight's show, Batista was given a main event title shot at Unforgiven. It must be noted that Batista claims innocence and has written the following on his website:

"To my fans and friends:
I categorically deny a report on ESPN.com, and repeated by other media outlets, that I am or ever have been a customer of Signature Pharmacy of Orlando, an on-line pharmacy company that is a target of an investigation by the Albany, New York District Attorney's Office.
I am being tested regularly by the WWE, and I am in full compliance with the WWE Wellness Program.
I regret the inaccurate reporting, and I will do all I can in the future to stop any publication or anyone from making such false accusations."


Opinion & Analysis: This is a tough one. On the one hand, the two statements by Edge and Helms pleading their innocence look to be untrue. While it would be easy to say that the media must be right, the recent death of Richard Jewell should remind us all against rushing to judgment and remember that we live in a country where people are innocent until proven guilty. Batista is stuck in the middle of a bad situation because names are not being named. This unfortunate situation should not happen again after November 1.

Obviously Batista hasn't been suspended. In what I will call a coincidence, since the names came out last week, the two biggest stars have each been given a main event title shot at Unforgiven. I don't want to say that the policy and the punishment seem based on your position in the company but if it looks like a rat and smells like a rat then it just might be one.

Chavo Guerrero
If I discovered the dead body of my uncle that died due to this junk, I know I would stop putting that stuff in my system. According to Sports Illustrated, it took six months for Chavo to stop ordering somatropin, nandrolone and anastrozole.
Opinion & Analysis: Chavo looks like he is one of the suspended wrestlers. No other active wrestler is as linked to the deaths of Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit as Chavo is. He found Eddie's body and received bizarre text messages from Chris Benoit. I really for sorry for Chavo for all that he has been through but if the embarrassment from all this makes him stop taking this stuff then I would rather he be embarrassed then having to add his name to the list that his friend and uncle occupy.

Funaki
According to SI, Funaki received somatropin in March 2006. Funaki did not appear on tonight's show. In all fairness, it is very rare when he does appear on a show.
Opinion & Analysis: This is a very easy suspension for the WWE to make. Of all the wrestlers named, Funaki's is the most surprising. I think he either got a really bad batch of this stuff or was buying it for somebody else because his physique looks like the before picture in a before and after comparison of a steroid user.

Who are the 10 Suspended Wrestlers?
There were 13 names of active WWE wrestlers brought up in the recent media reports. The two biggest names have been granted main event title shots at Unforgiven. Since the TV tapings, it has been reported that Santino Marella has appeared on house shows. That means that if everything that has been said is truthful and all the names have been publicized then these are the 10 suspended wrestlers: Chavo Guerrero, Shane Helms, John Morrison, Mr. Kennedy, Funaki, Charlie Haas, Umaga, William Regal, King Booker, and Edge.

WWE Championship Match: Champion John Cena vs. Randy Orton
Events leading to this match: Cena beat Orton last month at SummerSlam. To prove that he was deserving of a rematch, Randy attacked Cena's father and gave him a concussion.


Rey Mysterio vs. Batista
Events leading to this match: Rey earned this title shot by winning a four man tournament on a recent edition of Friday Night SmackDown. He beat Batista in the semi-finals and Finlay in the finals. The next week, the Great Khali attacked Rey. Rey was saved by Batista who was then put into this match. Last month, Khali purposely disqualified himself in a battle against Batista so he could keep the title.

Women's Championship: Champion Candice Michelle vs. Beth Phoenix
Events leading to this match: At SummerSlam, Beth won a battle royal to earn this title shot.

World Tag Team Championship: Champions Trevor Murdoch & Garrison Cade vs. Paul London & Brian Kendrick
Events leading to this match: London and Kendrick earned this title shot by beating Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas. While on the SmackDown roster, London and Kendrick held the WWE Tag Team Championship from May 2006 until April 2007. While on tour of South Africa last week, the title changed hands twice between these teams.

The Undertaker vs. Mark Henry
Events leading to this match: The Undertaker has been out of action since May due to a vicious assault at the hands of Mark Henry shortly after a grueling steel cage match against Batista. A few moments later, Edge cashed in his Money in the Bank title shot and stole the World Heavyweight Championship from the Undertaker. Edge is currently out of action but Mark Henry has been getting cryptic messages during his matches.

WWE Tag Team Championship: Champions MVP & Matt Hardy vs. Deuce & Domino
Events leading to this match: MVP and Matt Hardy have been feuding for the past few months over the U.S. Title. In the midst of this feud, GM Teddy Long forced them to be tag team partners and fight Deuce & Domino for the tag team titles. MVP and Matt won that match and became champions. However, both men are as like to fight each other in this match as they are to fight Deuce and Domino.

No DQ for Carlito Only: Triple H vs. Carlito
Rules of the Match: Carlito can do anything he wants without getting disqualified while Triple H can be disqualified for doing something illegal.
Events leading to this match: Triple H interrupted a recent edition of Carlito's Cabana to make fun of his guest Vince McMahon. During this segment, Triple H insinuated that Carlito's sister could be the mother of Vince's illegitimate child and a few moments later he gave Carlito the pedigree.

ECW World Championship: Champion C.M. Punk vs. Elijah Burke
Events leading to this match: ECW GM Armando Estrada declared Burke the number one contender for the title that CM Punk won last week. The former champion, John Morrison, is one of the ten wrestlers recently suspended for violation of the Wellness Policy.

The In's And Out's To Pro Wrestling's Injurys

I know wrestling is considered fake,but wrestling is very dangerous and sometimes the wrestlers do suffer from severe injuries. Sometimes they happen in a match and are reported accurately. Sometimes the wrestler enters a match knowing they will be taking some time off for an injury and the writers will come up with an angle where it appears that the wrestler suffered an injury at the hands of an opponent to create an angle for when the wrestler returns.

And other times, there is no real injury.Just a fake injury to develop a feud. This article will take a look at which wrestlers are currently sitting on the sidelines due to an injury and will reveal both the real reason and the storyline reason that the wrestler is not in the ring.

The RAW Wrestlers out on the D.L.
Triple H: During a tag team match at New Year’s Revolution, Triple H tore his quadriceps tendon from his patella.The injury occurred when he gave Randy Orton a spine buster. Triple H will return at SummerSlam.

Shawn Michaels: On TV, Shawn is suffering from post-concussion syndrome and might have to retire. In real-life, Shawn is suffering from a knee injury. There has been no mention yet of his return.

Bobby Lashley: Bobby has been suffering with an injury to his shoulder since the spring. He bit the bullet until the summer when Ken Kennedy "injured" him. He should return to the ring by the end of the year.

Jeff Hardy: There were conflicting reports as to whether the reason Jeff hasn't been on TV is because of injury or suspension. Jim Ross put that controversy to rest in his blog. He states that Jeff will be absent from the WWE for issues not related to an injury. He also goes on to say that "to err is human". It must be noted that Jeff has battled drug issues in the past that led to him being fired by the company.In other words he's probably getting high.

Santino Marella: Santino injured his shoulder during a July house show match against Umaga. He should return to the ring in the fall.

Dusty Rhodes & Sgt. Slaughter: Both of these legends have recently received concussions at the hands of Randy Orton. Both of these injuries are fake and are being used as part of the same storyline involving Randy handing out concussions. Since neither of these Hall of Famers are full-time wrestlers. Don't expect to see either man back in the ring for any time soon.

SmackDown Wrestlers on the mends
Edge: The World Heavyweight Champion was suffered a torn pectoral muscle on 7/13 at Night SmackDown when Kane attacked him during his Mardi Gras ceremony. Edge was forced to turn over the title. He is expected to miss four months of action.

Rey Mysterio: Last fall, Rey’s knee was injured by Chavo Guerrero when Chavo brutally attacked Rey’s knee with a chair during an “I Quit Match”. Rey was set to fix his knee and the match was used as the reason why he is out of action. Rey is scheduled to return to the ring at SummerSlam.

The Undertaker: In late April, he suffered a Very severe arm injury. After fighting Batista to a draw in a steel cage match on the 5/11/07 edition of SmackDown, Mark Henry came out and further injured the Undertaker. Edge then cashed in his Money in the Bank title shot and easily beat the Undertaker. The Undertaker is not expected to come back untill the winter.

M.V.P.: In August, Montel Vontavius Porter was diagnosed with Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome. He had a procedure done to fix this heart condition and should be back in the ring in September.

Gregory Helms: In May, Gregory Helms had surgery to repair a broken neck. He will be out of action for at least a year.

Bob Holly: On the 4/3 edition of ECW on Sci Fi, Snitsky smashed Holly’s arm with a chair while it was on the ring steps. That move “broke” Bob’s arm. the real reason he's out is, Holly needs surgery to remove a nerve entrapment in his elbow. He should return to the ring in September.

ECW Wrestlers out of action
Rob Van Dam: On TV, Rob is out indefinitely after suffering multiple concussions at the hands of Randy Orton. Rob is not injured. His WWE contract has expired and the injury was used as a way to write him off of TV.Too bad because his high flying is missed.

Marcus Cor Von: Marcus is taking some time off to deal with a death in his family. There is no timetable for his return.

TNA Wrestlers out on the D.L.
There are currently no wrestlers on the TNA roster that will be missing time due to either legitimate or fake injuries.

Other Notable Injuries
Matt Cappotelli: This former Tough Enough champion is currently battling brain cancer. In April 2007, he had brain surgery that doctors have called successful.

Roddy Piper: In November 2006, it was announced that Roddy was battling Hodgkin’s lymphoma. He claims to be doing much better and has looked good in recent televised appearances.

Sean O’Haire: In March, Sean got his ass kicked in a brawl outside a night club and suffered severe facial injuries. He suffered a fractured orbital lobe in three places and as well as other fractures to his face and skull. In addition, the vision in his left eye is impaired.

Konnan: In July, Konnan had a kidney transplant.

Rey Mysterio vs. Chavo Guerrero - Unlike the return of Triple H , Rey's return features him fighting the man that took him out of action. This match will end in such a way that the hatred between them will continue.Ya know they gota ride this as far and as long as possible so I'm going with a Rey Mysterio win followed by a Chavo sneak attack. Predicted Winner: Rey Mysterio

Intercontinental Championship: Champion Umaga vs. Carlito vs. Ken Kennedy - How do you get a rob the title Umaga and not make him look weak in the process? Have him lose the title when someone else gets pinned. Yep I foresee Mr. Kennedy taking advantage of Umaga destroying Carlito and then sneaking into the ring to get a cheap title win. In the process, such a victory is sure to make his potential papa proud. Predicted Winner: Ken Kennedy

World Heavyweight Championship Match: Champion The Great Khali vs. Batista - Batista's loss to three different champions since April and still he is considered a viable main eventer? Why? Hell if I know the answer to that question, I believe he can get away with another title match loss without losing his reputation. However, a victory over Batista can do wonders for the career of the Great Khali. Predicted Winner: The Great Khali

Diva Battle Royal - I need to tell you that most of the Diva Search this year will not be taking place on TV and instead will be taking place on WWE.com. As far as this match goes, the winner gets an eventual match against Candice Michelle. Hopefully, the winner of this match will get their title shot unlike Cryme Time who is still waiting since New Year's Revolution to get their title match. Predicted Winner: Beth Phoenix

Triple H vs. King Booker - We all know Triple H not winning in his return match is not going to happen. I also think this might be a quick match because he hasn't been in the ring for several months. Predicted Winner: Triple H

WWE Championship Match: Champion John Cena vs. Randy Orton - John Cena is pretty close to holding the WWE Championship for a year. The last time a wrestler did that was when Randy Savage held the title in 1988 and 1989.While I believe Randy might win the title soon, I just don't think that it will be here. Predicted Winner: John Cena

what led to this match: After his victory of Kane and Batista at last month's show, the Great Khali held a in the ring celebration. Batista interrupted the celebration and demanded this title shot. GM Teddy Long agreed with this challenge and granted Batista this title shot.So you get what we have here.

Hey look who's back it's Triple H vs. King BookerEvents leading to this match: Triple H has been out since injuring his leg during match at January's PPV, New Year's Revolution(really hurt him self). King Booker is mad at Triple H because of the theme song and nickname Triple H has, the King of Kings.Man I hate king Booker..his act is so played out. Good to see Hunter back.

Rey suffered a knee injury when Chavo used a chair on it last fall. The two men were feuding over Rey's use of the name of Chavo's uncle, the late Eddie Guerrero.

ECW Championship: Champion John Morrison vs. CM Punk:
Events leading to this match: Punk has lost the last two PPV battles he has had against Morrison (a.k.a. Johnny Nitro). CM Punk earned this title chance by first winning a 3-way match that granted him a non-title match against Morrison. Punk then pinned Morrison in the non-title match.

And how about a Diva Battle RoyalRules of the Match: The object of the match is to throw every wrestler out of the ring. The last Diva remaining in the ring is the winner.
This match will feature the Divas from all three WWE brands. The winner will receive a future match for the Women's Championship against Candice Michelle.
